"GEICO increased my premiums over the past 15 years to a total of $13,000 a year! No notices and no explanation. I tried to request information through chat bots on the Geico website. I said I wanted to talk to a human. Nothing doing. Got an online quote from Progressive, but after spending an hour putting in information, it said I needed to talk to a human, which I was glad to do. The human was very nice, but after taking all my information, I was told that I would be transferred to the premium policy department. I spoke with another very nice person who took more information and said that she was getting a “generic message” saying that they couldn’t insure my home. By now, it was toward the end of the day. She said she would call me back the following morning. The following morning I got an email message saying that there was still a generic “We can’t covered this home” response but no explanation. She suggested I check with a local insurance agency. I called the State Farm agency nearest me (I was encouraged that it had over 1000 ratings and a 5.0 star rating on Google), and in about an hour I had new homeowners and auto policies (and a new umbrella policy) for a total of $3165/year!!! I worked with Andrew who was very pleasant, but my only niggle is that Andrew works at the Carmel office, not the Greenfield office. Although this is not exactly hometown service, it’s light-years better than working with a chat bot at the GEICO website."
